I was , born and raised in the Western province of Kenya, in the beautiful village of Matete. I developed a passion for writing at an early age under the loving tutelage of my parents. After completing my secondary school education I wanted to be a journalist, working in the print media. This followed my experience of harrasment of journalists by the government then, Kenyans did not get information they were entitled to.They did not express themselves for fearof being hurled into cells. It thought someone needed to change that and It could be better I became a journalist and fight the established order from within.I had to choose whether i was in a better position if I worked as a lawyer or a journalist. Naturally, I chose to be a journalist
Anyway, things turned out differently after I applied for a journalism course in a media training institute in Nairobi. My parents did not have the money at the time.I ended up studying law my second calling!! However, I did not stop following my dream to be a writer, a poet and a journalist. I am an unpublished poet and a social commentator.I am happy as I move towards sharing information with the world, as seen from a lawyer-poet -journalist perspective and told as it is.
My connection to Africa
First , I would like to work as an African News reporter from my country Kenya.Naturally I would like to inform the world as accurately as possible of whatever is happening in my country.I feeel so much is yet to be repoted about Kenya, from politics to tourism and business.Apart from Kenya , Iwould not turn down an opportunity to work in Sudan and The DRC for the simple reason that the world has never read the full (hi)story of these countries and understood the genesis of their problems. Then of course the beatiful island of Madagascar, a tiny island the world is yet to explore despite its rich history.
