Born on March 16, 1978, Madalitso Kateta resides in Malawi's Capital Lilongwe where he earns a living as a freelance writer contributing to various local publications. He was stimulated to go into journalism by one the writings some of Malawi’s prolific writers, like the late Chinyeke Tembo who later became is editor at Positive Voices where he contributes locally and Mabvuto Banda currently reporting for Reuters news agency aside being the bureau chief of the Nation publications in Lilongwe . He did his secondary education at Chinkhuti Distance Education Centre and Tiwale PVT Secondary School where his first attempts to amateur journalism saw him suspended from school with his long time friend Joseph Nkosi with whom he jointly published a School News letter, The Tiwale watchers .He later studied for a shipping diploma, before getting a diploma in journalism. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication.
