pygmies are loosers in timber business

  1. Few months ago I have talked about limber business. As we all know, DRC has one of the largest forest reserve in the world and part of this forest is here at Equator region. This region has different people among which we can fin pigmies and different cultures too.
I am going to focus on pigmies, these people are bush men and they used to spend their whole life in the forest, few of them left the forest for village. These people are not recognized in many things while they have a strong culture and it some time interesting pigmies used to live in the forest and spend most of their life in the forest and it has becomes their home. But business men came with the exploitation of timber and these business men cut many trees and before starting their business, they have had agreements with authorities to build school, health centers…, but this agreement did not make profit to the owner of the forest i.e. pigmies . I have written about this kind of business at Libenge, and this town has many pigmies who are living around. These people are not gaining anything from this exploitation of timber in the forest which they are living. There are no school, no health centers for these people and there is no one to claim for these abandoned people.
In people mind, pigmies are not considered as other people and most of the time they are neglected maybe because they are not educated. Now these pigmies have many difficulties because most of trees have cut down. And they have to change place all the time.
Pigmies faced many problems among of which we have AIDS but how they get it ? people used to think that if someone ( man or woman) who is infected after having sex with a pigmy, that person will automatically be healed because pigmy girl or lady wears a cord around her hips and this cord will take out the virus from the infected . This kind of thought has infected many of these ignorant people and many things have to be done to sensitize them against Aids and what they have to do avoid it.
