The Hospitaalbroeders
Hospitaalbroeders is a Dutch charity aimed on development. We provide aid to people with physical and mental health related problems. The Hospitaller Order of Saint John Of God was founded 500 years ago and the Dutch organization is part of the Irish Order of Saint John of God. On a worldwide basis, there are 1500 Brothers and over 30.000 regular employees in 50 countries making an effort to propagate the message of St. John of God. These people provide aid, love and care to the ill, handicapped and unfortunate, regardless of race, skin-color or religion.

Help to aid development
Based in the Netherlands, the Hospitaalbroeders focus on the 11 poorest countries of Africa. We are working on improving the healthcare and conditions of life, and do so in a practical and small-scale oriented way. The order has founded many clinics and healthcare-centers in Africa. Some of these centers are setting an example for others in their country, and some even have a border crossing reputation. We also offer people practical possibilities to be self-sustaining in the long term. We do not offer people development assistance, but assist them in developing. We would like to increase the inner strength of persons and their societies, so the African people will eventually be able to be self-sustaining in the long term.
