West African Travel Market successfully launched

    From 18 - 22 October 2008, Banjul, capital city of The Gambia, hosted the first ever West African Travel Market (WATM); a 5-day business to business (B2B) event where business meetings took place between 20 European tour operators and more than 200 tourism suppliers from nine West African countries.

    WATM is established as a permanent initiative facilitating co-operation between tourism businesses from West Africa and the European travel trade. WATM offers an integrated set of instruments and actions such as an online market place, international marketing support and the annual West African Travel Market B2B-event.
