The Nigerian Nightmare crushed

The Nigerian WBC Heavyweight champion Peter Samuel also called The Nigerian Nightmare, has failed to defend his belt against injury prone Vitali Klitscho in Berlin. Klitscho, 37 retired in 2005 but was able to bounced back from injury to claim the world title in the eighth round from Peter.

The whole world particularly Africa had put their hopes on the Nigerian Nightmare whom even former champion Lennox Lewis had tipped to win. However, it was not to be as the 37 year old Klitscho tirelessly showered powerful blows to the smoking Nigerian Nightmare.

Vitali’s younger brother, Wladimir is the IBF/WBO Boxing Chamion making the Klitscho brothers the undisputed world champions, the deadly brotherhood. Wladimir also defeated The Nigerian Nightmare three years ago on a 12 round decision and Peter would no doubt have preferred to fight the younger brother to settle an old score.

The Nigerian Nightmare’s manager Ivaylo Gotsev did not despair,
"Rest assured, just like he came back from his previous loss (against Wladimir Klitschko), you can be sure he's going to be back again," he said.

"Samuel never gives up. Tonight wasn't his night. Vitali was superior. His (Peter's) corner said stop the fight. He would never quit."
