Ethiopia, US Peace Corps sign health accord

The peace crops team are said to play a significant role in the on-going efforts, Ethiopia is carrying out to beat up the spread of AIDS across the nation.
According to a statement released from the Ethiopian ministry of health, a co-operation accord is signed between Ethiopian ministry of health, Tewodros Adhanom and director of US Peace Corps team in Ethiopia, peter parr in different health care service sectors late on Wednesday.
"The presence of the US peace corps in Ethiopia will strengthen the country's weaker health care services to a better status", Tewodros said adding "Ethiopia will provide every thing necessary the team requires to promote its mission".
A US Peace Corps team of 42 members ,which is about to start its mission in a month time is currently receiving local language lessons and an introduction to cultures of societies the team is going to give service.
After an agreement was signed, director of the Peace Corps, Peter Parr on his side said "our Peace Corps are at their utmost readyness to perform the objectives of the mission, promoting friendship and peace worldwide".
The Peace Corps are going to be deployed in different regions of the nation to work hand in hand with Ethiopian medics, mainly in the prevention of AIDS and malaria as well.
Further more they will train Ethiopia health workers around the regions they are to be deployed to bring effective health services to the community.
An additional 100 Peace Corps are to arrive Ethiopia over the coming two years, according to Parr.
The mission will help tens of thousands of Ethiopians especially in the remote country side of the nation who are out reach of effective medical services.
