Somalia: AMISOM Putted Behind Bars a Mayor for Punching His


  1. Mogadishu—March 01, 2013. The African peace keepers in Somalia has arrested the mayor of Baladweyne, small town located in north of Mogadishu.
    Sources told, AMISON has arrested Mohammed Hassan Nuuriye, after punching his deputy Aadan Malimo over an argument on administrative matters. Mayor Mohammed spent the night in jail.
    So far, it’s unclear the exact nature of his crime.
    The town elders and religious leaders held talk with AMISOM over this matter and discussed the way forward he could be released.
    This is the second incident in this region controlled by the Djibouti peace keeping soldier. The peace keepers had arrested the town’s head of security after punching another local counsel official.
