The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon trashed their Mauritius Island folks 5-0 over the weekend in the joint World and African Cups` qualifiers. It was a splashing game for the experience Cameroon side at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde. Goal poacher Eto`o opened the score sheet in the 26th minute.

The game was more or less a goal festival for the boys of German football technician and Cameroon’s trainer, Otto Pfister, 70. Eto’o took the penalty, beat the Mauritian keeper to the opposite direction and netted the second goal for Cameroon. The Barça striker was now six goals up. He lost many chances that came his way.
Meyong Zé, once more reminded his Cameroonian fans and those across the world that his scoring spree is still very much intact. The Portuguese-based player headed in for Cameroon the third goal at the 56th minute. It was a smooth right-flank pass from another distinguished player in the Cameroonian team, Geremi Njitap, team captain at English Premier side, Newcastle.
Jean II Makoun, Cameroon’s midfielder at Olympique Lyonnais in France, was just in a good shape for the game. He had control of the Cameroonian midfield and this will be completed in grand style with a 70th minute goal, from a header still, thanks to a corner kick. Two minutes later, the daring Zé would once more reappear into the limelight, which is the 72nd minute, when he stylishly slotted in the 5th goal for the Lions. A very relaxed Cameroonian team continued the match until the end.
With the second phase of the joint eliminatories now something of the past, the third phase would begin after the draws on Wednesday, October 29 at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. This is the time football enthusiasts across the African continent and beyond will distinguish the boys from the men.
