Gambians to hold peaceful demonstration


  1. Gambian citizens including youths are poised to demonstrate against the execution of nine death-row inmates by firing squad at Mile 2 prison. The demonstration according to wide spread rumours in the Greater Banjul Area and comments on social media, is expected to start today.
    The ministry of interior has indeed confirmed the killing of the nine inmate on the state radio and Television (GRTS) and reaffirmed government's decision to execute all death-row inmates by mid September. Meanwhile the already proposed demonstration has imposed fear to many people especially parents who are concern about the lives of their children as may be vulnerable to the possible consequences of the confrontation.
