Ivorians have been leaving in fear over the past weeks due to a standoff between embattled leader Laurent Gbagbo and his opponent Alassane Ouattara.
The Cameroonian captain told Sport365.fr: "Above all, I pray for the Almighty God’s intervention in Cote d’Ivoire, to bring peace and protect Ivorians for further troubles.”
Eto’o is married to Ivorian-born woman named Georgette, with whom he has three children.
