Brazil to help Cameroon combat malaria
- Posted on Wednesday 11 April 2007 - 11:09Brazil will bring its expertise to Cameroon to help in the fight against malaria, according to an agreement signed Tuesday between the minister of Public Health, Urbain Olenguena Awono and the Brazilian ambassador, Roberto Pessoa Da Costa.
In Cameroon, malaria accounts for more than 50 percent of medical cases and hospitalisation, according to the ministry of Public Health. The Brazilian diplomat said the agreement was meant to tackle the root of the problem by promoting the use of insecticides. The role of Brazil will be to train Cameroonians in the use of the insecticides. 11 April 2007 - PANA
