All the crew of the ship - MV Shahbaig - are Pakistani citizens, sources told AfricaNews on Wednesday.

Somali pirates currently have in their custody 11 ships and 283 hostages along the Somali Ocean. The Horn of Africa has not had naval forces since warlords overthrew long time dictator Mohamed Siad Bare in 1991.
