Government has since disputed her claim. While the government has already warned people not to use the drug, Dimba is currently receiving a lot of clients that feel are being cured by the drug after the free government ARVs stopped working properly in their bodies.

Fwido Akidu one of the people that claims to have been cured by the drug said in an interview that the drug was really working wonders and there was no need for government to dispute Dimba’s claim for a cure.

Secretary for HIV, AIDS and Nutrition in the Malawi office of president and cabinet has warned Malawians not to be taken in by claims such as Dimba’s.

This is a second time in Malawi when a traditional healer claimed to have a cure for AIDS. The first was Dr George Kumbuyo who in 2004 got international headlines for an AIDS cure only to later confess he had been swindling people off their money.

Dimba’s drug is currently selling at MK 25.00 per litter something around 16 US cents.
