Barcelona sporting director Txiki Begiristain has admitted Samuel Eto'o could stay at the Spanish club because clubs interested in him are unable to meet his high wage demands.

Eto'o and Brazilian midfielder Ronaldinho have been told to leave the Nou Camp by new coach Pep Guardiola, who is building a new squad.
AC Milan has been strongly linked with moves for both Ronaldinho and Eto'o, who is also being targeted by Juventus and Chelsea.

But Begiristain told reporters at the unveiling of Brazil right-back Daniel Alves that “there is no news” on a deal for either player.
“We are waiting for concrete offers from other clubs so that we can negotiate,” he is quoted to have said.

“I understand that this is difficult because there are not many clubs in the world willing to pay these amounts.”
Eto’o it is worth nothing, earns US$250,000 per week and this has proved to be the sticking point for most of the teams interested in the Cameroonian.
