Belgium based trainer Lucky Msiska and Zanaco coach Wedson Nyirenda have been appointed to help George Lwandamina drill the African Nations Championship (CHAN) squad. Meanwhile, former U-23 national team manager Lusekelo Kamwambi will be the manager of the CHAN team.

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) vice-president Emmanuel Munaile confirmed the development in an interview in Lusaka, according to the Zambian Chronicle.
Munaile, who is also FAZ technical committe chairman, said Lwandamina was given the mandate to choose his assistants.
“We can confirm that Nyirenda and Msiska are the two assistants for the CHAN squad. The appointment of the two coaches is George’s desire because we gave him the mandate to choose the people he wanted to work with, and we do not want to question his decision,” Munaile informed
The three coaches at the helm of the local-based Chipolopolo both played for the national team in their heydays.
Msiska last donned the national colours at the 1990 Cup of Nations and appeared in several World Cup qualifying matches.
He was also part of the 1988 Summer Olympics team that was captained by Ashios Melu and had the likes of FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya, Efford Chabala and Wisdom Chansa, among others.
Msiska later became an assistant youth coach at Belgian second division side FC Rosalare, a team he played for.
He also briefly joined the Chipolopolo technical bench in 2005, assisting then technical director Kalusha and coach Ben Bamfuchile.
Nyirenda, also a former international, has guided Zesco United and Zanaco to Super Division titles.
Zambia will face South Africa in a two-legged final round qualifier next month and June for a spot at next year’s finals scheduled for Sudan.
The national team comprising locally-based players won a bronze medal at the inaugural competition held in Ivory Coast in 2009 under French coach Herve Renard who has since opted to drill Angola.
Elsewhere in the news, Chipolopolo defender Kampamba ‘Modibo’ Chintu will join another PSL side BidVest Wits next season from his current club Amazulu.
The 29 year old has been the pillar of the Neil Tovey coached side since returning from the African Cup of Nations.
And finally the Zambia Under-20 will face Mauritius on July 24 in the 2011 African Youth Championship qualifier.
In 2008, then coach by Oswald Mutapa and led by Emmanuel Mayuka, the young guns eliminated the Island in a two legged qualifier.
