WC 2010: Nigeria reveal final list June 1

    World Cup 2010 finalists Nigeria would unveil a final squad for the biggest mundial on June 1, ten days before the commencement of the tournament in South Africa. Demola Olajire, spokesman of the Nigeria Football Federation also said that a provisional list of 30 will be made known May 11.

    Nigeria coach Lars Lagerback announced a 44-man list in March which consists of players from Europe as well as a sprinkling of local league sides. According to Goal.com, he is expected to take at least one of the local players to the Mundial after his predecessor Shuaibu Amodu was criticized for not encouraging home based talent.

    The preparation of the squad has been questioned in recent days with disagreements over hotel accommodation between the coach and the federation. This has now been resolved with the team expected to be camped at the Protea Waterfront Hotel, Richards Bay, Durban.

    Nigeria are placed in Group B with Argentina, Greece and South Korea. They will play their first game at the Ellis Park against Argentina on June 12.
