Sensational Ghana forward Opoku Agyemang hopes to maintain his African Cup of Nations form to receive a call up for next summer's World Cup in South Africa. The Qatar-based forward said he always dreamed about playing in the World Cup and hopes that materializes into reality.

Agyemang said: “World Cup 2010 means the world to me. It's my earnest dream to be there and I pray I keep fit to be there. I want to go and I know I can make it if I get the chance.
“Every player wishes to play in the World Cup which is arguably the best and highest soccer tournament in the world. It will be a great achievement for me as a player because it is a platform that assembles the world's finest and I would be glad to be part to show the world what I am made up of.”
The Al Sadd player told Goal.com Ghana’s qualification to the World Cup for the second time in a row has propelled him to give out more than he thought he could have done.
“Well, it has pushed my dream into reality. The biggest football fiesta across the globe has caused me to train extra hard to be more focused to make the grade for selection by my country's manager.
“We all saw what happened in Angola. It was a perfect blend between the old and the young and we delivered to the satisfaction of the whole nation. South African 2010 will be great since it’s happening on African soil.”
The 20-year-old was hopeful the West African country would go beyond the second round which is their best World Cup record.
“Ghana can do better than the last World Cup in Germany because the team has improved a lot over the years.
“There is this presence of unity in the team which drives us on but this force is much stronger than ever. We keep improving day after day and game after game.
“In this modern soccer era, I see every team as a threat just as we are to other countries. Once you are able to make it to the World Cup, you are already a great team,” Agyemang who excelled at the Nations Cup noted.
