Six Ugandan young stars who travelled to Brazil for a training stint at the famous Brazil Football Academy have returned home and are marvelled by 'a lot of skills they acquired during the one week training'.

Paddy Atugonza, Godfrey Buni, Abel Eturudde, Robert Magomu, Ceasar Sapeo and Luwaga Kizito were picked from the 16th Copa Coca-Cola tournament in Arua. They had occasion to train in different aspects of the game under a coaching staff led by the Academy’s Technical Director and former Brazil World Cup winning coach, Carlos Alberto Parreira and another World Cup USA 1994 Hero, Bebeto.
The 2008 International Coca-Cola Football Camp is a continuation of a major global youth football initiative launched in the 1990s. It is the evolution of the “Copa Coca-Cola” program that has touched the lives of more than 600,000 students through 10,000 schools or youth club teams around the world. The camp is also an extension of The Coca-Cola Company’s commitment to promoting healthy and active lifestyles among young people.
Kennedy Mutenyo, the company’s Promotions Manager in Uganda says that in addition to training, the boys toured the city of Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana beach, Jesus the Redeemer and the World’s biggest stadium and host of the 2014 FIFA World Cup final match, Maracana Stadium.
“No single sport speaks to the world like football, and no single brand speaks to the world like Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola and football are a powerful association and magnet for bringing people together”, and its in line with the above understanding that Uganda was among the other 27 countries which sent over 300 young players from all over the World to this camp,” says Mutenyo
All the 6 boys are back at their respective schools ready to explode with skills and they continue with their education.
