Uganda provides land to investors

  1. Mugira Fredrick, AfricaNews reporter in Kampala, Uganda
The government of Uganda has assured investors that it is to provide them with land to ensure value addition to local products. President Yoweri Museveni said that the government is to provide the land in order to promote the export of textiles as well as generate enough revenue for the local market.

President Museveni gave the assurance at State House, Nakasero, at a meeting with the Turkey based Kucukcalik Industry which has a linkage in the Textile Industry.

He said that government is concentrating in infrastructure development particularly roads, railways and electricity which are crucial in promoting industries.

The chairman of Kucukcalik, Yasar Kucukcalik said, besides the textile industry they have specialty in energy and cement production. He expressed interest in establishing shopping malls.

Another good decision Uganda. We must entice more investors to this part of the world to rake in their hard currency. Go Museveni go with all the good initiative. But make sure that you don't end up selling out all the land of Uganda to them. We don't want another Zimbabwe where lands would be taken from whites when some "Mugabe" comes to power. Peace!

While the Ugandan leader, Yoweri K. Museveni has great hope in wooing foreign investors to invest in Uganda's infrastructure, industrial and agriculural development, and is ready to give land to such investsors, Ugandans have still to come to understanding the value of such investments and developmental strategies.

Today after The Uganda government signed a memo of understanding with Kagera Eco-Cities to promote, fund and develop the Sseesamirembe City Lake Victoria Free Trade Zone project, you still hear maliciuous allegations and rumors designed against the initiators of the Free Trade Zone project. Negative newspaper articles continue to be written about the Inventor of the Free Zone project who is belived to be a living visionary saint, HIG Bambi Baaba Baabuwee.

In a way it is good to now begin to see how high ranking Ugandans take it upon themselves for the benefit of Ugandans and Africans at large, to support the Rakai Free Trade Zone project that is being developed in part by members of Sserulanda Spiritual Foundation and in part by Chinese companies and other Ugandans and world investors who see the viability of such a huge project with international impact.

For the Katikkiro of Buganda to come out in its support and I have just heard the news that Professor Ssemakula Kiwanuka, Minister of State for Finance and Investment also supported the project while he was in Kyotera town yesterday, is a new development that indicates Uganda is awakening to the reality that our brothers in China saw when they visited Uganda in August of this year.

The Minister briefly addressed attendees of a Coffee Fair in Kyotera-Rakai, where he urged residents to ignore malicious allegations against the Sserulanda Community which is vegetarian. He said that “If the Sserulandese are vegetarians it is their business. You who are not vegetarians it also is your business. Let us forget our differences and join hands to develop this giant project that will benefit us all irrespective of our religious affiliations.”

That the Chinese were able to see the unseen and believed in the project under its formative stages but that most Ugandans have slumbered to its reality up until now is amazingly sad. It is the same story when Katikkiro Nsimbambi asked the Queen of England for hydro electricity at Uganda's independence, most Ugandans abused the Katikkiro. They did not see value in having hydro power at all.

The building of Makerere University was also met with ridicule, abuse and vehemently opposed. Does it seem this is the way Ugandans behave towards new inventions and innovations not realizing they will turn out very beneficial to us all?

Instead of seeing the vision and supporting it wholeheartedly, Ugandan journalists prefer to spice their articles with rumors and allegations unfounded. Recently, one young lady Madina alleged that her father, Hajj Saddayo Ssaddirira Bandeke aka Saad Tebandeke was killed in Sserulanda.

This is what I know and recall about her allegations. Hajj Saad Tebandeke died in his sleep in Kampala's sixth Street Industrial Area in the premises of Astral Alanda international where he had gone to spend a night for an appointment he had to attend the next morning with a few of his spiritual brothers. These brothers and sisters were shocked to find him in sleeping position- on one his sides, but dead.

On that day, the Sserulanda Founder and Lineage Holder HIG Bambi Baaba Baabuwee and I along with three others were at Rakai District headquarters where we had gone for official business to discuss with the district administration. We had spent the day at there.

When we arrived at Kyotera at around 5.00PM, Mr. Ssendege saw us walking on the street and he came forward to speak to The Living Saint, Bambi Baaba. "Have you heard of the news?" he asked Bambi Baaba who responded in the negative. "Hajj Saad died in Kampala last night."

Each one of us remained in shock for some moments. How did he die? What happened? Did he die in an accident? These and others were the questions that raced through our minds, hearts and souls.

None of us could believe what we had just heard. Mr. Ssendege then informed us that Saad’s body was being transported to Kyotera or Sseesamirembe for burial.

Of course we knew in advance that relatives of the deceased would want to have his body buried at their home whereas Hajj Saad, as a Trustee of the Sserulanda Foundation had taken a spiritual oath to have his body buried in his Spiritual Community by fellow Initiates of the Path of the Saints into which he too was initiated. There definitely would be a dispute about his burial.

I was Chairman of Sseesamirembe LCII at the time. That evening, truckloads of people from Kyotera, relatives, his children and friends flocked to Sseesamirembe with one intention and plan-- to demand that his body be taken away from Sseesamirembe for burial elsewhere at their traditional burial grounds.

Like Roman Catholic Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests, Monks and Nuns are married to the Church in life and death, so are the Sserulanda Trustees and High Initiates spiritually married to their Fraternity in life, in death and in life after death for ever and ever. No one would easily remove the relics of any Sserulanda Initiate or Trustee from their Fraternity burial ground, cemetery or mausoleum. They would defend that honor and dignity in no uncertain terms and ways.

I personally read out the policy document in which Trustees of the Sserulanda vow and take oath to have their remains laid to rest eternally in their Spiritual Fraternity. I showed them the deceased's signature as a trustee as they demanded to know whether he was one.

When Mr. Kinsambwe and Kisekulo saw his signature they recognized it with the reaction that, “The man betrayed us. It is true he is one of them," said Mr. Kisekulo. He then turned round and said but that, “This is not enough. We want to see his personal Will and Testament.”

When he said that, all people from Kyotera started booing and shouting. There was a commotion. I foresaw danger as the two groups could very easily erupt into chaos.

In my capacity as Chairman of the Sseesamirembe LCII, I gave the order: “In the name of the president of Uganda, all non-residents of Sseesamirembe LCII should leave. They should return to settle this matter tomorrow. It is already dark, 8.00PM at this time. Anyone who is not a resident here if caught will be dealt with in accordance with the laws.” They all left.

The next morning, Hajj Saad's sons and one Idi Kateregga (Hajj Saad’s father’s brother) signed a document authorizing that the deceased's body to be left in the Sserulanda Foundation and arrange relevant ceremonies for its disposal. The document was signed by five people: Idi Kateregga whose thumb print went on. Siraaje Kimera (the one who with his sister Madina, testified to the Probe Commission alleging their father was killed), David Ssali, Musumba and a fifth person whose name I not recall off hand.

In addition, I and one Jorisona Kasiimwe went to consult a Magistrate early in the morning about the best course of action. The magistrate at Kaliisizo issued a document in which he ordered that Hajj Saad's body be left where it was at Sseesamirembe until the dispute would be settled. That the Sserulanda management was free to embalm his body in the meantime."

When Hajj Saad's sons and Idi Kateregga signed the said document, it ended any disputes about whether or not his body could be removed from Sserulanda and so his body was embalmed and preserved. No one came forward to complain that he might have been murdered and no one asked for a postmortem as Madina now claims. That is the gist of the story.

Majority of people who die in Uganda do not normally have autopsy made before they are buried unless where it is a homicide or where there's suspicion of murder. In Hajj Saad's case that was not the case.

So for Al Mahdi Ssenkabirwa to write that Bambi Mugonza has been accused of "killing his followers" is absurd. How many followers has it been alleged he killed except in this one case as alleged by Madina and her brother Kimera? Nevertheless I do not recall that Madina specifically alleged that Bambi Baaba Baabuwee killed her father- at least not from The New Vision article I read.

I cannot fathom any instance where any sane and level headed person could ever accuse The Born-Saint Bambi Baaba of murder. As a natural healer and natural therapist, some individuals have approached him down the years asking for portions to kill their enemies or pregnant women for portions to carry out abortions. He has never given any one anything like poison to kill or take another person’s life. He has never given any herbs or modern drugs to force an abortion. Never. Not a single instance whatsoever. How could one who reveres life, who advocates for non-violence deliberately end another man’s life in any way or manner?

These people who are making such allegations need to bring their evidence of what they allege. They should be prosecuted for perjury if they have no evidence and if they testified under oath.

Madina's brother, Abdalla Kateregga aka Beebuda wrote his own document distancing his self from his brothers and sisters who wanted to sell their father's properties at Masaka, Kyotera and at Kifuuta. In his document he categorically told them they were free to do what they wanted with their father's properties at Masaka, Kyotera and Kifuuta but that he did not want any of the proceeds from the sales.

Beebuda stated that in life, his father gave him the property at Sseesamirembe and that was his share of the estate. Yet Madina and Kimera now allege that Bambi Baaba takes away people's property and sells it and used the money. Well let them produce evidence against him.

Kimera himself was arrested by the Obote II military officers and kept at Kasijjagirwa military barracks for weeks with his brother David Ssali. Most of the people who were taken to this barracks at that time when the NRA insurgency was nearing to take over the barracks at Masaka were never seen alive again.

Kimera's parents asked the Living Saint for help, to have their sons released alive and without wounds on their bodies. The Saint's compassionate heart worked a miracle. That is why Kimera and Ssali live up to this day. But Kimera is showing his gratitude to the Living Saint by accusing him of killing his father. It is preposterously incredible.

These are unfounded, unsubstantiated allegations intended to sabotage the Sseesamirembe City: Lake Victoria Free Trade Zone project and to damage Bambi Baaba’s holy, divine name. But I can assure you these saboteurs will never succeed.

I really hope this information reaches to the Probe Commission so they may have another view of factual information. I also hope Mr. Kisekulo and Kinsambwe are still alive to testify to what I have written of that day and evening. I hope Mr. Idi Kateregga, Hajj Saad's uncle is still alive because I know he can testify to these facts.

HIG Bambi Baaba Baabuwee is a Perfect Born-Saint who is one hundred percent a strict-lacto-vegetarian. He teaches and advocates the noble principle and doctrine of non-violence to humans and to lower creatures. To say that this non-violent Saint killed any one not to mention his own disciple who Hajj Saad was and is, is total blasphemous.

Such blatant blaspheme is the unforgivable sin and whoever commits it has a terrible price to pay in accordance with the teachings of the Saints and Saviors, Redeemers and Soul-Liberators of all times and climes including Lord Jesus the Christ. I pity those who ignorantly accuse God's Saints of wrong doing because in doing so they blaspheme against the Holy Ghost! When Judas Iscariot betrayed his Master Lord Jesus, he soon ended his own life by suicide- Judas hanged himself. It was a very swift retribution. God forbid!

Africa's growth and meaningful development will not come when African masses are not well sensitized about what development entails and what benefits is brings to them. The greatest enemy of Afrca'a development is religious and tribal bigotry, eny and jealous coupled with corruption of our academic, trade and commerce, social-political and cultural leaders in all sectors of society.
