The US called on Sudan government to work with The International Criminal Court day after the ICC issued another arrest warrant for Sudanese president Omar Hassan al-Bashir. "The United States strongly supports international efforts to bring those responsible for genocide and war crimes in Darfur to justice...

“... and believes that there cannot be a lasting peace in Darfur without accountability," a White House spokesperson Mike Hammer said.
"We continue to call on the government of Sudan and all other parties to the conflict to co-operate fully with the International Criminal Court," he said in a statement which did not name al- Bashir.
The United States who is not a member of the International Criminal Court refusing to join for fearing to prosecute its forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The international Criminal Court has already issued a warrant for president al-Bashir’s arrest in March and accused him of war crimes in the western Sudan region of Darfur. Bashir denies the charges.
ICC accuses Bashir of running a campaign of rape, murder and other crimes against humanity in Darfur. Bashir denies the charges.
Law and order in the Western Region of Darfur has collapsed since 2003 when black African rebels began to take arms against the Sudan government.
The ongoing conflicts in Darfur has killed some 300,000 people and displaced more than 2.5 million others, according to a UN report. Sudan however said only 10,000 people are dead.
