As the political impasse in Zimbabwe continue unabated, the U.S. and the U.K. has vowed to discuss the Zimbabwe crisis at a meeting in the UN Security Council on Wednesday,

The South African leader told the SADC heads of states in Zambia that there is no crisis in Zimbabwe which shocked the rest of the world. However, the US and UK diplomats said they intend to highlight their concern for Zimbabwe.
Benjamin Chang, a spokesman for the U.S. mission to the United Nations told AFP. "We will be raising Zimbabwe, among other issues."
It will be an interesting issue taking into cognizance that as the host nation South Africa was tasked to mediate between the Zimbabwe’s Zanu PF and the opposition MDC and end the uncertainty but up to date Thabo Mbeki has failed.
The gathering aims at discussing amo0ng other issues ways to boost security cooperation between the United Nations and the African Union.
The spokesperson also castigated Zimbabwe Electoral Commission for the delay and said the issue would also be taken up in bilateral meetings during the gathering.
South Africa's UN Ambassador, Dumisani Kumalo, said last week that the crisis should not be raised during Wednesday's meeting because it is not on the council's agenda and is best handled by Zimbabwe's neighbors in the
Southern African Development Community (SADC).
Meanwhile the meeting follows the SADC emergency meeting held in Zambia and it would be a noble idea if this time around give ZEC the ultimatum to release the results.
