The Good samaritan orphan & Needy school

  1. Dear friends,

Here is the story filled by the Bamasaba community of Mbale but staying in New York l hope you will enjoy the site and find it interesting.

Mbale is bordered by the Republic of Kenya in the East, Tororo District in the West, Kumi district in North West, and Kapchorwa district in North East. Mbale district has an area of 2756 sq. km land area of 2504 sq. km and then land covered by 5300 hectares of forest.

The area receives two seasons of rainfall i.e. March-May and July -October.
The community is located 40 km East of Mbale town while in Mbale town you board vehicles of Bududa (taxis) and you get out from Bubiita Sub County and then ask for good Samaritan orphan/needy school.

The community lies on the slopes of Mt. Elgon in Bunabumali village, Buwali parish, Bubiita Sub County, Manjiya county, Mbale district but currently Bududa district.

The district is highly blessed with a number of tourist attractions i.e. beautiful sceneries, bamboo forests, water falls, foothills, rocks, climate, giant Afro-alpine groundsels and lobelias, plenty of food stuffs, and vegetables, elgon fish(bamboos-malewa), caves, circumcision ceremony during even years and the nearby Sabiny who circumcise both female and male and this occasion attracts very many people from outside countries.

Mt Elgon national park which inhabits different species of flowers and wild animals (Eco systems) this has lead to tourist to come to Mbale year after year, season after season.

The community is well served with good social services for example roads all the way from Kampala to the community premises. The communication network is strong and security is provided at all times despite some ups and downs as Uganda being a third world country

The transport fares keep on varying i.e. Kampala to Mbale town: Ug shs 8000 to 15000 and then from Mbale town to Bubiita sub county :1500 to 3000 the district has good schools for both primary and secondary but a bit expensive for the orphans/needy children to access/manage. The location of where the school is located can also easily be assessed
