Trained in Film & Video Production Management and Observational Documentary Film & Video Making and obtained a diploma in both disciplines. I have worked in varies departments of a feature film and documentary video making and I much prefer the production management side of things. This includes being 1st Assistant Director, Production Coordinator and more recently Producing digital videos and co directing. In 1996 I underwent a Training of Trainer’s course and contributed to the development of curriculum for the Intermediate Production Management Training course. The course was designed for training three production managers who would work with the other trainees on their production exercises and 10 min videos. The course’s objectives were to end up with trainees who are proficient in Production management and to introduce them to the role of the producer. I have 20 years (this year 2008) experience in all of the above departments and I have excellent communication skills resulting from years of production Office positions, founding and heading International Video Fair Trust (IVFT)for the last 12 years. The first 4 years went to researching and developing the concept into project proposal stage, and the last 8 years (including 2008) on-going project proposal writing, fundraising and developing interventions and implementing the projects. IVFT,s main objective in the last 8 has been the distribution and exhibition of video productions for the purpose of providing disadvantaged communities throughout southern Africa with access to information through the video medium and exhibit southern African film and video makers products that would otherwise never get seen by the people who are portrayed in these films and videos and produce for. Now moving on to full time digital video making and moving away from distribution and exhibition, information dissemination as department can now run without me and also once we find a regional director to take over me and of course finding the funds to pay her wages for at least the first two years while she settles in.
