My name is Thandisizwe Mgudlwa a writer for The Associated Press based in Cape Town, South Africa. I have work experience as a journalist, editor, publisher, researcher, marketing executive, independent consultant . I've been in the media industry for 11 years. I've recently completed the first Developmental Journalism Training Programme at the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism and People Management programme (NQF level 7) at Rhodes University . I also hold a Post Graduate Degree on National Economy and another (NQF level 7) on Media Leadership. I've been a contributing editor for the Personal Finance and Black Business Quarterly (BBQ) magazines, include Bua News Online, African Eye News and Eye Witness news online among many others. I started my career at newspapers like the Cape Times, then City Vision, the Sunday Times and Daily Sun reporting mostly general news. I've worked for City Press Business too. My career includes internships with the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation and the Arts and Media Access Centre (AMAC) as a journalist and sub/news editor and Condenast's GQ magazine, Autocatalog (Cars) magazine and for Cape Africa Platform, media liaison officer. When I started my career I wanted to gain working experience with the aim of making a positive contribution to the betterment of our society and the broader human condition. I had to explore while seeking to learn new skills, which is why I have been moving around. I believe that I have been successful in most of my goals so far.
