    Exports of sugar from Zambia to the European Union increased from 30,000 to 135,000 tonnes following the removal of the quota trading system. - The commissioning of the K1 trillion Nakambala Sugar Estate Expansion Project has resulted in increased production by 100 percent.     The Zambia government has sold 75 percent shares of telecommunication firm Zamtel to a Libyan telecommunications network, Lap Green for $257 million. - Announcing the partial privatization of Zamtel at the Ministry of Finance offices in Lusaka, finance minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane disclosed that Lap Green has agreed to pay a total consideration of $257 million for the 75 percent equity in Zamtel whose 100 percent equity stands at $343 million.
