The Zambia government has sold 75 percent shares of telecommunication firm Zamtel to a Libyan telecommunications network, Lap Green for $257 million. - Announcing the partial privatization of Zamtel at the Ministry of Finance offices in Lusaka, finance minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane disclosed that Lap Green has agreed to pay a total consideration of $257 million for the 75 percent equity in Zamtel whose 100 percent equity stands at $343 million.
