I would love the opportunity to write or contribute in any way really, for AfricaNews. Having worked for several years with magazines such as Jetwings (inflight magazine for Jet Airways), Namaskaar (inflight magazine for Air India), Free & Easy (British Airways frequent flyer magazine) as well as Khaleej Times weekend specials, I have written extensively on lifestyle, travel and the arts. I'm based in Mumbai, India, although I am a frequent traveller (I've just returned from a month in New Zealand and Malaysia and will be travelling to Indonesia and Singapore soon). Working my way up from being Assistant Editor at Mediascope Publicitas, I became the editor for Incredible India, an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism India. My job involved managing magazines right from ideation to printing, delegating to a team of designers, coordinators and freelance journalists and liaising with the client, paying particular attention to cost control, schedule workflow and quality maintenance. Since leaving Mediascope, I have continued writing for their many publications as well as freelancing for Smarttravelasia, the Times of India supplements among a host of others. However, I also have a strong literary background, with a BA in English Literature from St Xavier’s College in Mumbai, an MA in the same from Mumbai University and another MA that I have only just completed from Goldsmiths College in London, in Contemporary Approaches to English Studies.
