Nigeria to disconnect unregistered SIM cards
- By Karuna Madan ABUJA: The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) has said it will disconnect all unregistered Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards from their networks within six months. The executive vice chairman of NCC Eugene Juwah said this when he flagged-off the nationwide SIM Card registration on Monday in Abuja. He said there were currently 89 million active lines in the national telecommunication network. "After six months from today, all these lines are expected to be registered," the chairman said. - By Karuna Madan HARARE: The Zimbabwean government has engaged local and external financiers in mobilizing offshore loans to assist locals in acquiring stakes in foreign owned companies in line with the indigenisation policy. The engagement with financiers is being made after realizing that the fiscus has not availed such funding despite indigenous people having limited funding.
