Over the last fifteen years, I have built a strong professional and academic career in the field of Communications with special emphasize on Research & Documentation, public relations, writing and editing articles, journals, Public Awareness (PA), Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials for various organizations. My professional experiences span across the fields of gender and development, media and academia. This has been gained through varied national, regional and international exposure with the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Uganda Christian University, Makerere University, the Eastern African Sub-regional Support Initiative for the Advancement of Women (EASSI), All Africa Press Service, the media and the Anglican Church of Kenya. These experiences have placed me on the cutting edge of development as I interact with the development agenda to support management level fundraising. They have also sharpened my training skills as I respond to the learning needs of both adult and academic learners. Academically, I hold an M.A in Journalism Studies from the University of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom. I am easily adaptable to new circumstances as evidenced by the fact that I have worked in various types of organizations – media, religious, gender, academia and now research, both in and out of my home country. I have remained focused on my key area of competence- communication and public relations. I work independently and can make decisive decisions as evidenced by the various consultancies I have undertaken. I am self motivated, multi-tasked, committed to my tasks and thrive in a team.
