Lighting Cameraman - 35mm / 16mm / HD / SD / Steadicam / Helicam / Editor I am at present a Freelance Director, Lighting Cameraman and Editor. This has been a hat I have worn for sometime having found myself working more in the documentary field. This has been interesting as it has allowed me to work on most media platforms. In 1981 started my professional career with SABC (South Africa) News and Outside Broadcasting and was fortunate in participating in their Internal Training program. A position in Commercial Television became available and I moved to Johannesburg to join Chroma Television. I returned to Cape Town two years later to make Feature films for English Director John Hurd and Television Drama's for Director Manie van Rensburg. On completion of these projects I returned to Commercials with the production company TopTeam. Working in the Commercial field for many years I chose to try my hand in the International Arena. In 1988 I moved to London and worked chiefly for TVAM and LWT news. I returned to South Africa to manage a Television Facilities Company and cover the Nelson Mandela story. Completed projects Aspects of Life a 13 part series for Discovery Channel and SABC. The Smirnoff International Fashion Awards, a one hour special. Directed and filmed the Chelsea Flower Show for SABC, a Boer War Special, BBC and Why They Sank The TITANIC Streetcar Motion Pictures. Although not qualified as a journalist, these past few years have led me into the documentary field that has allowed me to write and direct some interesting projects as well as shoot for Discovery / BBC / National Geographic and Canal Plus. New clients are CNBC, DSF, SAT 1 and ProSieben. I have also remained active in the Corporate market working for large corporates both locally and abroad .
