EMANG BOKHUTLO BIOGRAPHY Emang Bokhutlo is a qualified and experienced communications expert, editor and accomplished media personality. She holds a BA Humanities (single major – English) Degree from the University of Botswana. She has 12 years working record in international calibre journalism, with successes in pioneering, editing and producing The Voice, a leading weekly national newspaper. Emang Bokhutlo is currently the Managing Director of MoVision Marketing, and Managing Editor of MoVision’s flagship, the Hotel & Catering magazine, a monthly business and leisure publication circulated in Southern Africa. Her experience in the media industry spans over 18 years, beginning way back in 1991 when she worked for the government media as an intern for a year, writing stories for the Botswana Daily Newspaper and reporting for Radio Botswana’s popular newsreel radio programme. The radio experience, although short was augmented by her stint at Yarona Fm, which lasted for almost a year, where she was a guest every Friday on a popular show to present The Voice on Friday promotion. For over a year she worked as a free lance current affairs programme host on GBCTV, which later transformed into ebotswana television station. She is thrilled to count as part of her achievements in her long and successful career in the media the opportunity to have been singled out from numerous interested individuals to represent Botswana at an international Youth Parliament in Australia in recognition of her contributions to youth development through writing, in the year 2000. Another one of her career highlight would definitely be winning the Common Wealth Press Union Journalism Fellowship, in 2002, which took her on a media tour to the UK, which culminated in her gaining valuable work experience at the Darlington Echo Newspaper in Darlington town, Britain. As part of her learning journey on this journalism road, Emang Bokhutlo has been to Malawi on a CPU Sub editing Course, South Africa in 1997 on an IAJ Newsroom & Leadership Management Training , Zimbabwe on a Business & Economic Writing Course in 1996 as well as other countries to cover various international events and to hone her skills through training. A founding member of the first ever Africa Editor’s forum and a founding Board member of the first Botswana Press Council until her resignation three years ago, to fully concentrate on running MoVision, Bokhutlo is extensively well versed on the Botswana and southern Africa media landscape and the challenges thereof. Bokhutlo is indeed a media veteran and a leader in her field who is humbled by the fact that she has not only come so far in her career, but she has also in the process mentored and produced many award winning prot�g�s.
