I am a 25 year-old wirter, gender activist and journalist. I have worked for gender-oriented organisations, vounteered at the PSI as a scriptwriter under the theatre for education concept; writing plays for a rural audience to desseminate information on stigma, ART, PITC, TB and AIDS as well as other HIV-related topics. I was adjudged to be among Zimbabwe's top 10 leading and innovative youths in a nationwide search which culminated in me being one of three representatives of Zimbabwe in the Imagine Afrika Reality TV show - which is an HIV awareness initiative targetting the youth. I have written a TV drama that was produced and aired on the ZBC the nationla broadcaster; the script interrogated the marital institution as a major site of women's oppression. I also contribute articles to the SAfAIDS monthly magazine on HIV-related topics, and write social commentary articles and stories for the Mail and Guardian under the Voices of Africa project. I have also contributed to the Gender Links cyber networks with gender-focused articles.
