My name is Zephaniah Mashauri Musendo. I was born on September 16, 1947 at Mugango village in the Lake Victoria zone district of Musoma, Mara Region in Tanzania.
I went to primary school in 1957-1960 and joined middle school in 1961- 1964. After successful completion I joined Musoma Alliance Secondary School in 1965-1968. I was selected to join Mzumbe High School in 1969 where I completed my Advanced Level studies in 1970.
Thereafter, I joined the National Service under compulsory terms for six months before I was employed by the Tanzania Information Services as an Information Assistant. I attended a two-year diploma course at the Tanzania School of Journalism in 1975-1977.
In 1979 I was employed by the Tanzania Standard Newspapers as sub-editor until June 1994 and then joined the Guardian newspaper in Dar es Salaam in July 1994 as sub-editor and later was elevated to Editor of Sunday Observer in the Guardian Limited group of newspapers up to 2005.
I am currently working for The African newspaper under New Habari (2006) Limited.
