I began my media career in 2005 as a researcher for Available Light Productions in Bristol. After several years spent working as a cameraman, sound recordist and assistant producer, I began directing programmes for Available Light, focusing on their educational output for the Teachers TV channel. During this time I directed programmes in the UK, France and Germany.
In 2008 I left Available Light to become a freelance producer-director. Since then I have directed several 60-minute documentaries for the BBC. More recently I worked for Brook Lapping Productions in London, producing a series of drama shorts aimed at school pupils for the Teachers TV channel. I have also recently commenced writing a fiction novel, and am an avid blogger and social commentator.
I recently founded a production company, Hidden Picture Productions, with my partner Louisa Dennison. We make thought-provoking short films for organisations that are working towards positive societal change. We have our own broadcast quality camera, sound and editing kit and offer a full production service, from planning, researching and filming, to editing and post-production.
In autumn 2010 we moved to Accra, Ghana to produce documentary and promotional films. We are currently developing documentary ideas for international broadcast as well as working as freelance filmmakers, camera persons, sound recordists, directors and editors.
