Terfa and Sado record wins at Xiamen showdown

    Ethiopian Negari Terfa set a course record and lifetime best when he won the Xiamen International Marathon in China on Sunday.

    Terfa covered the distance in 2:07:32 seconds to better the course record by three seconds.

    His previous lifetime best was 2:07:41 run in Berlin four years ago.

    20 year old Kenyan marathon debutant Paul Lonyangat was runner up finishing just 12 seconds behind Terfa.

    Ethiopian Fatuma Sado triumphed in the women’s race. She covered the distance in 2:27:35.
