Tanzanian police forces have arrested 28 Ethiopian immigrants who were heading towards South Africa from that country.
The Ethiopian immigrants who were being lead by two officials from Tanzania immigration department had finished a one-year-term in jail at Babati prison in Tanzania after police arrested them for living in the country illegally.

Tanzania media reports that such activity is business for some officials from the immigration department who earn money by trafficking Somalis and Ethiopians to South Africa.

The Urafiki police had held the bus of migrants since directives from the immigration office were given to allow the bus to continue with the trip. Media reported that the immigration office has not said more explanations.
