Somali Ambassador to Kenya hits out at Kenya's immigration

    Somali Ambassador to Kenya , Mohamed Ali Nur faulted Immigration Minister, Otieno Kajwang's statement that Kenya was runing out of patience for Somali MPs.

    He said , asking Honourable MPs who are guest of Kenya to go to refugee camps was unwarranted. " Its not good for Kajwang to utter such words since the Somali MPs regularly come to Kenya for very important business, " said Ali Nur.
    Otieon Kajwang last week told the BBC that he was on the verge of telling Somali MPs to register themselves at refugee camp.

    He said the embassy has written a protest letter to Foreign Affair Minister Moses Wetangula requesting an apology.

    Immigration Minister Otieno Kajawang last week said Somali MPs should work in Mogadishu. Kajwang said some of the Somali MPs were hatching plans in Kenya that are aganist the government.

    In exclusive interview with the AfricaNews, the Ambassador said the government of Somalia shares the same view that MPs should work in Mogadishu. But, he said some of the MPs regularly visit Nairobi to attend meetings and seminars arranged by the International community.

    " Offices for the United Nations are temporarily based in Nairobi , therefore it is very important for decision makers on the Somali issue to come to Kenya," said Mohamed Ali Nur.

    Police last week arrested 12 SomalI MPs , two army generals and several directors of governement agencies following a protest by Muslim in Nairobi.
