The Senegalese security official barred the main opposition coalition Beno Sigil Senegal from protesting against what they called bad governance. Security agents were last night scattered in the city of Dakar and it surroundings to take action against opposition protesters should they defy the government orders.

President Abdoulie Wade has been widely criticized for spending about US $80million to host the World Festival of Black Artists.
Hundreds of opposition supporters rallied at Beno Sigil Senegal party head offices denouncing the ongoing malpractices carried out by Senegalese authorities.
Speaking to AfricaNews Batilemy Jazz mayor of Sicap Baobab and a member of opposition alliance beno sigil Senegal said the Senegalese have borrowed over just 80 million dollars to celebrate the World Festival of Black Artists, he stressed that the opposition unfortunately have been barred from protesting, adding that they fighting for development priorities like health, education, safety and hope.
‘Abdoulie Wade told us that he got the money from abroad and at the end , the Senegalese government went to banks and borrowed US$80 million just to have a party with the president’s daughter,’ he stressed.
He said the opposition is protesting against what he called the thieves who are leading Senegal, he accuse Abdoulie Wade of being a dictator, our gold is to remove Abdoulie Wade from power he said insinuated 2011 is going to a difficult year and the today is warm up for the opposition.
The mayor Sicap Baobab stressed the opposition will fight tooth and nail to ensure Abdoulie Wade doesn’t put his son in power.
