President Wade determine to end the Casamance conflict


  1. Senegal's President Abdoulaye Wade reiterated his government’s readiness to continue the dialogue with the Movement of Democratic Forces of Casamance (MFDC) for a peaceful solution to the crisis; this according will also pave away for the government to reintegrate all those who agree to lay down their arms.
    He called on the leaders of the different rebel factions to join the government on the path of peace and ‘national unity."

    The Senegalese leader expressed concern over the number of deaths in recent weeks ‘I know you are all moved by what happened recently in Casamance because of the irredentism of some factions, while others are negotiating with us to restore peace."I want to assure you that in their task of defending the territorial integrity of our country, our military will continue to ensure relentlessly on the safety of persons and property regardless of the implications of executing such a noble duty; " he stated.

    Wade further commend commended stakeholders including his Gambian counterpart President Yahya Jammeh taking part in the negotiations process to bring for definitive peace in the Casamance

    Wade said ‘if I win the February 26, I will form a government of national unity and take into account of gender among the best talented and brilliant to serve our country.’’
    Youth employment
    President Wade said that his government committed and prepared to mobilize the necessary resources with a view to remedy the high rate of unemployment in country. President Wade promise that his government will create one million jobs by 2015 if elected for a third term.
    He recalled that during the Presidential Investment Council held on 14 November 2011, his Government has committed itself to mobilizing the resources needed to curb unemployment in the West African country.
    According to him; the all agencies responsible for youth employment will transform into a single entity to effectively promote youth employment. The Senegalese leader went on add that his government will provide 800 million FCFA franc to support of special for tertiary and University graduates.
    On agriculture
    President Wader emphasized the need for young people to take part in agricultural activities for his country achieve food self sufficiency and exportation of agricultural products.
    He promised that his government will ensure country enjoy the peace during and after election for the common good of all citizens; adding that his government defend the right of all citizens.
    Attack on the Dakar Mayors office
    Commenting on the recent attack on offices of the sicap Mermoz Mayor; who was subsequently remanded for allegedly killing Diaga Diouf of supporter of the ruling Party Democratique Senegalaise (PDS) during scuffle with a group thugs Wade says that "All persons involved in unfortunate incidents will face justice; our ambitions and choices may be different" but "above our ambitions over our choices, there is one homeland unites us and that is Senegal.
    Opposition
    Wade accuse opponents of portraying the image of the country to Western leader ; calling it waste of time ‘They keep begging for hearings and during dinners and lunches, gossiping about their country and its leaders, while dreaming of chaos from which, naturally, they come out unscathed. They have already lost a lot of unnecessary time abroad instead of coming to try to convince our fellow citizens and solicit their votes, because the elections are neither in Paris nor Washington but in Senegal. ‘’ Wade stated.
