PRESS RELEASE: New project kicks off in Kenya

    Voices of Africa Media Foundation has launched its fourth phase of mobile reporting training in Kenya, where five more trainees joined the project after a four-day training. Conducted by the Foundation's coordinator for East-Africa, Khamis Ramadhan, the training covered the basics of mobile reporting, including the technicalities of the mobile phone.

    “I have learned to shoot with a phone, to edit, to merge clips, and how to upload to the internet”, said Nick Okoth shortly after the training. Okoth, who is among the five young trainees, will be reporting from Migori, place of residence. Together with him were Bonny Kipchirchir, who will be reporting from the Nairobi’s slum of Kibera, Sylvia Kore, from Kajiado, Thomas Onyiego, from Majengo, Nairobi, and Njeri Meresa from Ugunja
