Organic products is a booming market segment and a great opportunity for Africa. The continent has vast lands, which provide in many instances ideal conditions for farming, no need for chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

I am currently involved in a project in Madagascar that was launched by one of the pioneers of organic farming in South Africa to produce and export fruit juices and dried fruit. The proof-of-concept phase was successful and we are planning to expand the business and add organic sugar.

The team is convinced that this project will be "a flyer" and that the experiences made can be transferred to other countries in Africa. This is partly due to the fact that we have already convinced key clientele in Europe, who have started ordering from us.

We are, however, at the point where we need funding to further expand. My hopes are that through this forum we could establish a network of people who can help us pursue our porject in Madagascar and other countries.
