Opposition demonstration violently repressed by security for

    The demonstration of opposition parties had been violently repressed by security forces in Conakry. Early on Tuesday morning security forces surrounded areas where opposition leaders and militants planned to meet for a peaceful protest march against the exactions of Alpha Condé’s regime.
    Militants holding signs against the regime had been violently beaten and arrested by the police and gendarmerie. Security forces shot at domnstrators. At least 3 people have been killed and 38 injured. Other opposition activists who considered this situation as a provocation reacted by throwing stones at security forces. Etienne Soropogui the vice president of NFD Party and Sorel Bangoura General Secretary of UFDG in Matam had been arrested and incarcerated in the gendarmerie.
    In Labé and Télémélé protest march happened peacefully without any incident because security forces were absent.
    Despite the threats and bans of Sekou Resco Camara the governor of Conakry markets and shops were closed. Many went out for the march and all activities were paralyzed.
    Opposition leaders succeeded to reach Bambeto and held a meeting even though police tried to disperse them by tear gas.
    "Security forces should protect the demonstration instead of preventing it. Although we condemn the death of people it is a real satisfaction for us because have achieved to paralyze the capital." Said UFR Leader, Sidiya Touré.
    "It is a big victory for the opposition parties." Said Cellou Dalein Diallo.
    France asked the government not to use guns and violence to repress militants’ demonstration. France is also worried about the hatred and exclusion speech of Alpha Condé.
    Opposition parties for the finalization of the transition are committed to continue the protest march until the satisfaction of their demands.
    Other demonstrations are being organized in France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and the USA today.
