Opposition parties in Guinea have denounced the invasion of rebels disguised as hunters in that country and accused the government of recruiting them in order to spread terror on opposition militants throughout the protest march. They also denounced the human rights violations by the government.

During a press conference organized by the opposition, Dr Faya Millimono denounced the government's refusal to hold a frank and constructive dialogue in order to create conditions of transparency and credibility for the organization of elections as soon as possible.
"The violent repression of legal and peaceful demonstrations of the opposition on September 27th calls on all Guineans committed to democratic values. The government of President Alpha Condé has proved their inability to comply with the principles of rule of law and democracy for which many Guineans have made heavy sacrifices", said Dr Faya Millimono.
According to the group during the peaceful march on September 27th , officers from the security forces backed by militia hunters killed five people, injured hundreds and arrested many others among them pregnant women and minors. These arrests were made mostly in private homes which were looted and emptied by security forces.
The opposition leaders have also strongly denounced the mockery of justice which condemned peaceful demonstrators and innocent victims of repression and abuse. During the trial, most of them were found naked. This proves that our justice is not up to the challenges of law and real democracy.
They also said that these human rights abuses have again tarnished Guinea’s image abroad, as confirmed by reports of Amnesty International, WACSOF (West Africa Forum of Civil Society ), Secretary General of the United Nations and the U.S. State Department .
Talking about invasion of rebels disguised as hunters, the opposition called on the people of Guinea to break the silence because of the peace, unity and national security threats created by the presence of hundreds of militia disguised as hunters in Conakry, who are rebels in reality. Media outlet s mentioned about the fear and concerns of people due to the presence of these rebels.
According to the opposition, the criminal actions of the rebels disguised as hunters seem to be supported and maintained by government authorities. The declaration of their spokesman after the audience granted to them by the President Alpha Condé is a proof. The problem of the rebels disguised as hunters is so worrying that some analysts fear that any conflict may turn into a civil war.
"Wherever these kinds of militia groups have been used in Africa, civil wars occurred. The examples of Rwanda, Congo Brazzaville, Côte d'Ivoire, Liberia and neighboring Sierra Leone are still in our memories,” said Mouctar Diallo.
The opposition parties therefore asked the international community not to remain indifferent or passive to this serious peace and stability threats.
