Ntaganda wants the rebel fighting alongside the FDLR

  1. Bosco Ntaganda, the chief of General Staff of the rebel National Congress for People's Defense (rebellion, CNDP), hopes that its troops are involved alongside the Congolese army and Rwandan tracking down Rwandan Hutu rebels in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

"I support the agreement signed in December between the government of Kinshasa and Rwanda, said Thursday at the press General Ntaganda.
The two governments had signed on 5 December a joint military plan for the disarmament of Rwandan Hutu militias of the Democratic Liberation Forces of Rwanda (FDLR) based in eastern DRC.

"It was one of our demands. This agreement was signed, it is time for the CNDP to participate in this operation," said General Ntaganda.
The Chief of Staff of the CNDP states have since Monday dismissed Laurent Nkunda because of its "bad leadership", causing a crisis at the head of the rebel movement, one of the key demands is the neutralization of FDLR.
"We were not aware of the various agreements that are being made between Kinshasa and the governments of neighboring countries," lamented Mr. Ntaganda, in reference to the joint plan agreed by Kigali and Kinshasa.
The rebel movement was not yet part of the operation plan, whose details have not been made public.
Mr. Ntaganda hoped that his movement of troops taking part in these operations, which will start during the first quarter of 2009: "the war would not be needed between the rebels and the Congolese army because we will have a common enemy, the FDLR. "
"The war is nearing its end because we will fight one enemy, the FDLR," said General Ntaganda, who said he was "ready to go to Kinshasa to participate in the planning of the hunt" of Hutu rebels Rwanda.Ntaganda wants the rebel fighting alongside the FDLR
