- THE Eastern Cape has great potential for movie making and could soon see an influx of film crews, according to veteran South African filmmaker Martin Cuff. Pointing to the landscape, which he said offered some of the best locations for film-making, he said: “Films such as Hotel Rwanda and Tsotsi have paved the way for more stories to be told. As the film industry seeks new and interesting stories, (they will find) the Eastern Cape is a hub of storytelling.” Cuff, who has been in the film industry for more than 20 years, both locally and internationally, was in East London on Wednesday for the first meeting of roleplayers in a regional film development strategy.
