Looking at the media reports about the elections across Africa, one cannot help but feel sorry. I wonder each time if African leaders will ever learn to accept defeat and work together with their opponents to develop their countries and continent at large!

Take Zambia for instance, Sata started accusing the government that they had rigged the elections even when he was ahead when they started counting the votes. The case for Kenya and Zimbabwe cannot be over emphasized! Last time I checked, African countries still have cases that are going on for about five years, people are still contesting in court that the election results of four years ago were rigged!
Learning from America, Al Gore, felt cheated when he lost, but he knew that he could only go that far and then he settled his case to allow the elected administration to manage the country properly. The recent elections in the US, Michelle Obama is going to be the first Lady, but now she is consulting with Hillary Clinton, her husband's fierce enemy during the democratic primaries. Obama seriously criticized Bush's policies, now they are working together to advance the country's goals. There is a whole lot that Africa has to learn.
Ghana will be having its elections in December this year and Malawi in May next year. Pay attention to the proceedings and you will hear the reports that will come from the losers!
I cannot help but wonder, has there been any free and fair election in Africa?
