Nigeria: Son, Slaughtered Whole Family to Death


  1. In the night of 13th September in Kano State Northern Nigeria the five people were slaughtered to death. The late Bello Garba a security agent who is on sick leave slaughtered together with his wife, and 3 children, two female and one male in their residence.

    Sister of the deceased wife told bunch of reporters that her sister called her on her mobile phone around 1:30 am in the night told her that somebody in mask killed her husband and he also heading for them. She continue saying in a shaky voice before the phone call terminated. She said she quickly wake up and tried her brother’s phone but couldn’t reach him.

    Around 5:00 am in the following morning hundreds of people gathered at Bello’s residence while the house is locked waiting for the police to show up.
    Kano State police commissioner Muhammad Gana who visited the scene told newsmen that “this killing is not armed robbery may be is hired assassins’ but luckily two of his sons that is his elder son and his 11 years brother were escaped so we would find more from them after” he said.

    The slaughtered, family was taken to Kano General Hospital for inspection and later released the bodies for burial. The bodies have already been buried according to Islamic rites.

    Wednesday the 15th around 4:00 pm the news broke Kano that the elder son Garba Bello Garba confessed that he is the one who killed his parent, sisters and brother.

    Garba Bello Garba a 23 years old dropout student of physic in Kano University of Science and Technology told news reporters including AfricaNews reporter that he is the one who slaughtered his family to death.” My father was very ill he is suffering kidney problem and I know he is going to die.”

    He continue saying that “the night that I killed him my mother called me and said his condition is deteriorating so I came and sat beside him and even ask me to massage his leg and I did was he ask, he told me that he is going to die because of this ailment”
    When asked why does he killed them he said “I knew my father is going to die, and if he dies we are going to suffer since we don’t have anybody that will take care of us if our father demised, that is the reason why I decided to kill everybody in order to avoid the hardship that may arise as a result of our father’s demise “he said.

    When ask him about his escapee younger brother Halifa, he said “I stab Halifa first and run away to toilet crying he locked the toilet and I tried all what I can to reach him but I couldn’t. And then I return and stab my mother and she fell down and cried then I slaughtered her in her neck later to all my sisters and our last born male boy” he said.
