Nigeria's new President Goodluck Jonathan has received praise from a former Niger Delta militant as the main man to solve the chaos in the oil region. Victor Ebokawe, also known as General Boyloaf, was convinced that since the president hails from that region he is well vest with the situation at hand.
Speaking to the BBC, Ebokawe revealed that he has been in touch with the president and called on the Niger Delta leaders to be patient with the amnesty process.
He said Jonathan should contest next year's elections because he "is a man who is ready to rule Nigeria as one Nigeria."
Jonathan was sworn in as president when former President Umaru Yar’Adua died.
