According to Chishimba who resigned as an MP last Monday the new party will be launched in the country’s popular town of Ndola.

He said he had decided to form a political party which has no interim president, in order to bring sanity to the political system in the country.

Chishimba however, said the party will be headed by a chairman.

A Lusakatimes.com report quoted the former MP as saying that one million of the first batch of the party’s manifesto, which were being printed abroad, would be distributed across the country for people to understand the party’s visions.

He also said that the party has the full support and backing of many Zambians within and outside the country.

Reports say that the party will hold its first convention in less than three months to elect its presidential candidate ahead of the next elections in 2011.

It is yet to be seen as to whether the party will be able to mount a strong challenge to the ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) of president Rupiah Banda.

The MMD has strongly faced challenge from the Patriotic Front (PF) which is led by Michael Sata.
