In the morning of December 2nd two scouts witnessed an elephant giving birth. They said the mother was surrounded by the other cows who were protecting her and her baby and comforting her. The other cows were even cooling her down by flapping their ears!
When the baby elephant was born, the matriarch, which is the female leader of a breeding herd, helped the newly born to her family on it's feet. She used her trunk and her head to encourage the baby elephant to stand up and take it's first steps. Both mother and baby are doing fine.
